  • Knitting Club: The knitting group has been busy this summer knitting scarves for children served by the Adelante program in the public schools. We could use lots more hands to knit as the program serves up to 1000 children each year. Please contact Sandra Bradley at 983-5125 or sandbrad@aol.com if you are interested in this knitting project.
  • Day-time Book Group: Meets the second Wednesday of the month, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the La Farge Library Community Room. Everyone is welcome. Please contact Nickola Rubow at nickolarubow@yahoo.com for more information.
  • Your Choice - Start a group that addresses your interests - interests—art, computers, gourmet, etc.

 

Committees of Interest

PUBLIC POLICY: locally provides candidates’ forums in conjunction with other SF community groups for support of community issues that promote AAUW goals and participates with national AAUW to influence PP on all issues affecting women and girls such as education, the environment, families and equity in the work place. Contact Jeanne Patrick with questions or interest.

OUTREACH: promotes equity for women through education. Participate in projects to help girls realize their potential. Projects such as Careers and Curiosity for elementary girls and boys, Expanding Your Horizons for middle school girls, and collecting coats and food for the Adelante Program for the Santa Fe Public Schools’ homeless children, youth and their families. Call Lina Germann if you would like to participate.

FUNDRAISING: Help raise tax deductible funds through activities such as Trash and Treasure Sale. Contact Sandra Bradley if interested in participating.

LEGISLATIVE POTLUCK: Help organize the potluck in preparation for a day of lobbying at the Roundhouse during legislative sessions. Contact Connie Coates if interested in helping.

MEMBERSHIP: recruit members and help new members feel welcome. Contact Sarah Fassett if interested.

DIVERSITY: Chair position vacant. Let us know if you would like to take on this important role.
